THOMCON is not perceived as a classical consultant in automotive industry, due to its direct involvement in the day-to-day business. Rather, we are an experienced sparring partner for our customers with plenty of practical expertise. We advise small and medium-sized companies and service businesses as well as internationally active automotive suppliers.

Project «ISO»:
A family-owned business has set itself the goal of optimizing the work flows and introducing a management system which can be certified according to ISO 9001: 2015. The management manual should be user-friendly and follow a pragmatic approach. A lean structure based on the “as-much-as-necessary” principle is an important objective. We moderate the team meetings and contribute our practical experience and knowledge to the project, processes and quality management. This includes in particular the interpretation of the standard and the custom realisation for the company. Where useful, we provide sample documents, which can be used as a basis for your own application. We carry out internal audits to compare whether the procedures described in the management manual are effectively implemented in practice.

Project «IATF»:
An internationally active industrial company is certified according to ISO9001: 2015 and is receiving more and more customer requests from the automotive industry. With two different mandates, THOMCON is to accompany the company’s development:
1. Market entry
Because many concepts, methods and procedures of the automotive industry are still largely unknown, the so-called “beginners’ mistakes” have to be avoided with the development of a strategy for the entry into the automotive industry market. We support the sales and engineering team with processing customer requests, contract investigation, cost breakdowns, tactics in cost negotiations, project management, quality planning and automotive industry-conforming industrialization of new products.
2. IATF
A GAP analysis identifies the development requirements from ISO 9001 to IATF 16949 for two production sites in Europe. Subsequently, the process descriptions in the team are customized to the extended requirements of the automotive customers. Local and country-specific needs are taken into account. Afterwards, the workflows are implemented with specific training and focus in the area of ​​APQP. Then they are checked for their effectiveness by means of an internal audit.
